Remote Audition Tips

NOTE: FormAssembly will not accept photo files larger than 2MB. If the form will not process your application, the most likely cause is that your photo files exceed the size limit.

VIDEO AUDITIONS
.
1) Your audition may be recorded on a smart phone, video camera, or similar device. Please attach it to a solid surface or tripod.

2) Wardrobe: Unless otherwise instructed, casual clothing is fine.
.
3) Slate: Begin by introducing yourself. State your full name and agency (if you have one). Stating your age is also helpful, especially if you are a minor.
.
4) Perform to camera, just barely off to one side as if your scene partner were operating the camera: Not directly into the lens, but almost.
.
5) We are looking for natural performances for film; not theatrical nor overly sensationalized. We highly recommend you memorize your lines and prepare adequately before recording your audition.
.
6) Record your performance close enough to see your face clearly: from about your chest, upward.
.
7) Make sure your video is clear, in focus, and has plenty of light. Natural light—filtered daylight—is usually best.
.
8) Check the sound. Make sure it is clear enough to hear without needing to turn up the speakers.
.
9) Please submit one take only.
.
10) Upload your video to an online site like YouTube or Vimeo. IMPORTANT: Set the privacy settings to "Unlisted," so we will be able to view your video without a password. Only those with the URL address will be able to access your video.

Thank you! We look forward to reviewing your audition!
