  • Dates are always subject to change;
  • It has not yet been determined who (or how many) will be needed for each day;
  • These dates are an estimate. We will request your availability when we know the make-up and needs of each day’s scenes.
SHOOT LOCATIONS: Utah County, Utah (exact location, TBA).

CHURCH MEMBERSHIP: Must be an active, temple-worthy member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

COMPENSATION: Paid. Rates are comparative with corporate/educational union scale and position of the role (lead, day, featured, background, etc.). If applicable, agency fees are 10%.
  - To be paid, participants must be legally documented to work in the United States.
  - Due to recent government visa restrictions, we are not allowed to hire international students, paid or volunteer.

DAY PLAYER & BACKGROUND ROLES may apply from any location. Please note, however, that these roles must "work as a local." Meaning, we cannot cover travel, lodging, or living expenses. All participants will be paid a standard daily rate for each day of work.

NEEDED
We will need adult actors and background actors of all ages. The production of 2020 will portray TWO groups of people:

I. The people of Ancient America between about 6 B.C.  34 A.D. These are Indigenous/Native Americans of North, Central, or South America; or Pacific Islanders.
All applicants will be requested to haveor growlong hair (unless naturally bald). Unlike previous years, this is not a requirement for adult men, but a request. Women and Minors under age 18 must grow their hair.

II. The people of the Middle East during the time of Christ.
All applicants will be required to haveor growlong hair (unless naturally bald). For men, this means growing a full beard.

BACKGROUND ACTORS
No Audition required.
  • NOTE: We always receive many women and children who are eager to participate. We are grateful for you! This also means that we have a special need for Adult Men and the Elderly.
  • These roles are PAID. In order to be paid, all participants must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • While Background roles are paid a daily rate (a little over $100 per day), we cannot provide travel, lodging, or per diem for non-speaking or day-player roles. Participants would need to “work as a local,” finding travel and accommodations on their own.
  • The number of working days depends upon the actor’s availability and the needs of the production. (TBD)
  • Please note that film-set days can be long, hot, and taxing. Participants should be in good health and ready and able to follow directions.

**PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW DIRECTIONS AS OUTLINED**

If you are applying for background work, you do not need to post a video, but we do need your photos as directed.

    TO APPLY

    STEP ONE:  CURRENT PHOTOS
Please take 4 still photos. A current digital snapshot is preferred, taken in NATURAL DAYLIGHT. Photos with your camera phone are fine.
    1. Headshot: from the chest upward. Looking at camera.
    2. Profile: from the chest upward. Facing directly to one side.
    3. Full body, facing camera. Wear comfortable clothing that fairly depicts your natural shape. Please include your feet.
    4. Full body, profile.
Photos must be well lit, without obstructing accessories like sunglasses or hats.

For guidelines about photos and video submissions, please visit

    STEP TWO:  COMPLETE the FORM
Go to this link and complete the application form. You will be able to upload four photo files to your form.

    ACTOR AUDITIONS

We are accepting submissions for Supporting and Day Player roles. If you are interested in auditioning for a SPEAKING ROLE, you may access audition sides through these links:
    MEN'S ROLESWOMEN's ROLES

For now, we are providing one adult male audition side: Nephi (the son of Helaman) and one female audition side taken from a Bible excerpt. (There will be female supporting roles this year.)

Neither of these sides are from the scripts. Their sole purpose is to allow you to show us your acting proficiency. We recommend that you prepare well before submitting your application. Only auditions of the highest caliber will be considered.

    RECORD YOUR AUDITION
This applies only to speaking roles OR Witness Characters.

We recommend taking sufficient time to prepare and rehearse the scene(s) adequately. Please memorize your lines.
    (1) This may be recorded on a smart phone or similar device. We recommend attaching it to a solid surface or tripod.
    (2) Wardrobe: Casual, comfortable, earth tones—blue, brown, tan, gray, or green. Avoid solid black.
    (3) Record your performance close enough to see your face clearly (from about your chest, upward).
    (4) Make sure your video is clear, in focus, and has plenty of light. Natural light — filtered daylight — is often a good choice.
    (5) Slate: Begin by introducing yourself. State your full name, age, and agency (if applicable).
    (6) Perform to camera, just barely off to one side as if your scene partner were operating the camera. (Not directly into the lens, but almost.)
    a) If “speaking to a multitude,” expand your audience to no more than 3 feet on either side of camera.
    b) Also, HINT: Find specific people in your audience to help make your performance more personal.
    (7) If you are submitting more than one side, please submit each one as a separate video.
    (8) We are looking for natural performances for film. Not theatrical nor overly sensationalized.
    (9) Check the sound. Make sure it is clear enough to hear without having to turn up the speakers to maximum volume.
    (10) Please submit one take only of each side.
    (11) Upload your video(s) to an online sharing site like YouTube or Vimeo.

IMPORTANT: Set the privacy settings to "Unlisted" (not “Private”) so we will be able to view it without a password. Only those with the URL address will be able to access your video.

Audition Submission deadline for supporting speaking roles: Please submit your audition as soon as possible. We are now casting.

Also, feel free to forward this information to anyone whom you believe fits the criteria and may be interested!

Thank you! We look forward to reviewing your application!
